The space CSES program aims to studying the lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupling mechanisms by observing electromagnetic, ionospheric and magnetospheric phenomena and searching for possible spatial-temporal correlations between the variations of these physical parameters and the onset of high-intensity earthquakes. Such measures are performed by a large set of instruments on board CSES satellites and will allow to learn about the processes at the base of these correlations and to develop models capable of explaining these mechanisms. The monitoring of solar activity, the study of low energy cosmic rays and South Atlantic Anomaly are also in the program.
